Sean Shields is given the opportunity to do what he loves at Qualtim: he wades knee deep in political issues and then writes about what he finds! He continually strives to give clients a leg up on what federal and state legislative and regulatory bodies are doing that impact their businesses, and gives them solid strategies and tools to communicate effectively with government leaders. He finds it interesting to finally be working on the “private” side of things after working within the state legislatures in Colorado, Texas and Wisconsin. It’s also his second opportunity to work with a trade association after spending a few years traveling the country as a spokesperson for the American Trucking Associations in Washington, DC.

Sean earned his Master of Public Affairs degree from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin, and graduated with a Political Science major from Carthage College in Kenosha, WI.

He now lives in Madison with his significantly better-half, Emilie, and currently enjoys playing soccer and basketball and training for endurance cycling events.
